Capture presets
Apply a built-in capture setup or save your own combination of timing, stop, and keypress options.
Updated July 10, 2026
Presets fill the Auto Capture options with one selection. They do not choose a screen or window for you, so you can reuse the same setup with different sources.
Built-in presets
Shotomatic includes three starting points.
| Preset | Stop condition | Interval | Keypress | Countdown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kindle | 20 screenshots | 500 milliseconds | Right Arrow | 3 s |
| Quick Demo | 5 screenshots | 1 second | None | 3 s |
| Timelapse | 1 hour | 3 seconds | None | 5 s |
The Timelapse preset uses a Duration stop condition and requires Pro.
Kindle requests 20 screenshots, which is above the Free limit of 5 Auto Capture screenshots. Activate Pro or reduce the screenshot count before starting.
Apply a preset
Select a preset near the top of Auto Capture. Shotomatic updates the stop condition, interval, keypress, and countdown immediately.
Applying a preset clears the current capture source. Select the screen, window, or custom area again before you start.
Save the current setup
- Configure the stop condition, interval, keypress, and countdown.
- Select Save Current Setup.
- Enter a unique, non-empty name that describes the job.
- Save the preset.
The new preset appears beside the built-in choices. Select it whenever you need the same setup again.
Remove a preset
Use the delete control on any preset, including a built-in preset, to remove it. Removing a preset does not delete previous sessions created with it.
