Pearson+ Offline Reading and Notes Export: What You Can Save

Pearson+ supports offline eTextbook reading in its apps and can export your Notebook notes as a PDF. These are separate features. The offline book remains inside Pearson+, while the Notebook PDF contains your study notes rather than the full textbook.

What Pearson+ lets you take offline

Download a Pearson+ eTextbook for offline reading

Know the offline limits

Highlights and notes created offline can sync to the browser view after reconnection. Some other features still depend on internet.

Pearson's current app support page allows up to two authorized app devices at once and one device swap per calendar month. Avoid using a temporary or borrowed device if you expect to replace your phone or tablet soon. Browser reading is separate, but only one web browser can access an eTextbook at a time.

Export Pearson+ notes as PDF

After reconnecting and syncing:

1. Open the eTextbook.
2. Select Notebook from the navigation menu.
3. Remove filters unless you want only selected chapters or tags.
4. Select Edit.
5. Choose the notes you want if selection is required.
6. Select Export.
7. Choose where to save the PDF.
8. Open the file outside Pearson+ and verify it.

Add missing source details such as title, edition, ISBN, chapter, and page or location. The export is your study record, not a substitute for the book.

What "lifetime access" means in Pearson+

Pearson's current help page defines lifetime eTextbook access as a five-year period with web and app access. It says a title downloaded during that period may continue to be accessed through Pearson+ apps after the web period ends, under the stated download and device conditions.

That does not create a PDF in Downloads. If long-term access matters, download the title in the app before the five-year window ends, keep the app authorized, and export your Notebook regularly.

Fixed six-month access behaves differently. When the term ends, the title may leave the library unless access is extended or purchased again.

Why copy and paste may not work

Pearson's app support currently says copy and paste is disabled in eTextbooks. Use highlights, notes, bookmarks, flashcards, and Notebook export instead of trying to work around the restriction.

For quotations, record the source location and manually verify the wording in the reader. Do not rely on an OCR copy for academic quotation.

If you need a PDF for another app

Check whether your specific course or title includes separate downloadable worksheets or an approved file. A worksheet PDF is not the full eTextbook.

If GoodNotes, Acrobat, an e-reader, or assistive technology is required, contact Pearson Disability Support or your institution's accessibility office with the exact ISBN and requested format. Ask whether the title has an approved accessible alternative that works with your required software.

Do not use Shotomatic to recreate a Pearson+ eTextbook. It is not a workaround for Pearson+ restrictions.

The book is missing from the app

Confirm the purchase completed, use the same Pearson username, and check whether the access term ended. Course-linked books may require enrollment before appearing.

Notes made offline did not sync

Reconnect, keep the app open, and confirm the same account is used in the browser. Do not remove the download until the latest notes appear.

Media does not open offline
