Images to MP4

Add photos or screenshots, put them in order, and choose a slideshow or a timelapse. The MP4 is made in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

How to turn images into an MP4

  1. Select Choose images, or drop or paste JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC files onto the page. You can add up to 300 images.
  2. Drag the thumbnails into the order you want, or select Sort by name. Sorting puts frame-2 before frame-10, so numbered files play in sequence.
  3. Under Video settings, choose Slideshow to show each image for a set time, such as 2 seconds, or Timelapse to make each image one frame at 5 to 60 frames per second.
  4. Pick the Video shape, Resolution, and Image fit, then select Create MP4. When the video is ready, preview it and select Download MP4.

Slideshow or timelapse?

A video is a series of frames shown at a fixed rate. In Slideshow mode, the tool repeats each image at 30 frames per second for as long as you set, so a 2-second slide is 60 identical frames. That suits photo sets, product shots, and step-by-step screenshots.

In Timelapse mode, each image becomes exactly one frame. 300 images play for 30 seconds at 10 fps, or 10 seconds at 30 fps. This is how a screen timelapse works: a screenshot every few seconds, played back quickly, turns a long work session into a short clip.

For anything longer than a few seconds, an MP4 is a better choice than a GIF. A GIF is limited to 256 colors per frame. An H.264 MP4 keeps full color, plays on nearly every phone, browser, and video player, and is usually much smaller.

Need a single image or a document instead? Stitch screenshots joins captures into one long image, and the image to PDF converter puts each image on its own PDF page.

Frequently asked questions

Is this images to MP4 converter free?

Yes. There's no signup and no watermark. Each video can hold up to 300 images.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the images and encodes the video on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the tab clears the images.

How do I make a timelapse from photos or screenshots?

Add the images, select Sort by name if the files are numbered, and choose Timelapse. Each image becomes one frame, so 240 images at 24 fps make a 10-second video. A higher frame rate gives a shorter, faster video.

How long can the video be?

Up to 10 minutes. You can add up to 300 images, each up to 20 MB and 600 MB in total. In Slideshow mode, each image can stay on screen for 0.1 to 60 seconds.

Can I add music or transitions?

No. The MP4 has no audio track, and the images change with a straight cut. To add music, titles, or crossfades, open the MP4 in a video editor.

What if my images are different sizes?

Every frame has the same size. Show whole image fits each picture inside the frame and fills the gaps with black or white bars. Fill and crop fills the frame and trims the edges. With Same as first image, the video takes the shape of the first image and is never larger than it.

Which browsers does it work in?

The tool uses the video encoder built into your browser (WebCodecs), which recent versions of Chrome, Edge, and Safari include. If a high resolution such as 4K fails, try 1080p or 720p.

Want a screen timelapse without taking every shot?

Shotomatic's Auto Capture takes screenshots at a set interval on your Mac. Then open the session in Capture History, pick a frame rate, and export it as an MP4.
