Can You Download Perlego Books as PDF or Read Them Offline?

Perlego books can be downloaded for offline reading, but only inside the Perlego mobile app. The service does not export books as PDF files and does not support moving them to a personal e-reader.

Short answer: Use the Perlego app on iOS or Android, tap Download book, and keep the subscription active. Do not look for a PDF in Downloads.

Download a Perlego book for offline reading

1. Install Perlego from the official iOS App Store or Google Play.
2. Sign in to the active account.
3. Open the book's details page while online.
4. Tap Download book.
5. Wait for the downloading indicator to finish.
6. Tap Read book or open it from the library.
7. Disable Wi-Fi, restart the app, and test several sections.

Progress, notes, highlights, and bookmarks made offline sync after you reconnect.

Why the book is not in Downloads

Perlego explicitly says the book is stored inside its app and is not exported as a separate file. You cannot open the offline copy in Preview, Acrobat, GoodNotes, Calibre, or another e-reader.

The browser version also does not offer offline download. On a laptop or desktop, Perlego reading remains browser-based and needs a stable connection.

Do not search app storage, rename internal files, use developer tools, or capture the book page by page. Those actions do not turn the subscription access into a portable file.

Manage the 30-book limit

When the app reports Download limit reached, remove a local download you no longer need:

1. Open the library.
2. Use the menu next to the downloaded title.
3. Choose Remove from Downloads.
4. Download the new book.

Removing the local copy does not remove the book from your bookshelf or change its reading status. You can download it again while the title and account remain eligible.

Understand download expiry

Perlego's current guide says a download expires after 30 days without use and can remain downloaded for up to 180 days with activity. The service does not currently promise a warning before expiry.

Before a long trip:

• open each required book online;
• confirm the download state;
• test it with Wi-Fi off;
• check that the subscription covers the trip;
• revisit any book that has been inactive;
• sync your latest notes.

If a download expires, reconnect and download it again. This works only while your subscription is active and the title remains available.

Can Perlego work on a Kindle?

Perlego's accessibility guidance says Kindle devices do not support the Perlego app or the third-party apps required for Perlego offline reading. Because Perlego does not export books, you cannot send the subscription title to Kindle as a PDF or EPUB.

Use a supported iOS or Android device for offline access. If the device or format does not meet an accessibility need, contact Perlego and your institution's accessibility office.

Save your notes before canceling

Perlego does not provide direct bulk export from the Notebook. Its current Notebook guide offers two practical routes:

• For one note, open Notes & Highlights, use the ellipsis beside the note, and choose Copy note.
• For a whole book's study record, email help@perlego.com and ask for a PDF of the notes and highlights for that specific title.

Perlego's copy guide allows copying up to 10 percent of a book in a laptop or desktop browser. The allowance cannot be reset by deleting earlier copies, so reserve it for passages you actually need and record the title, edition, page or location, and citation.

Before access ends, reconnect first so mobile notes, highlights, bookmarks, and progress sync. Then copy important notes, request any needed PDF, save citations, and open the saved material outside Perlego. The Notebook itself requires internet.

If a title leaves the library, Perlego says your written notes remain in the Notebook, but highlights cannot be viewed in their original book context while the title is unavailable. That makes an early notes PDF or source-aware summary more useful than waiting until the book disappears.

Do not use screenshots to recreate the books before canceling.

Where Shotomatic does and does not fit

Because Perlego says its books cannot be exported outside the app, Shotomatic is not the right route for a Perlego title.
