Compare Images: Spot Differences with a Slider, Fade, or Difference View

New free Compare Images tool that puts two images side by side on your device, with Slider, Side by side, Fade, and Difference views and a PNG export of the current view.

Shotomatic Compare Images showing a before and after screenshot with a slider

We shipped a new free Compare Images tool in Shotomatic. Load a Before and an After image and switch between four views to see what changed. Both images are processed on your device.

What's New

  • Load the Before and After images separately, or drop or paste both at once
  • Compare PNG, JPG, WebP, and HEIC images
  • Switch the two images with Swap, or clear both with Start over
  • Save the current view with Download PNG

Four Views

  • Slider: drag the divider, or move it with the arrow keys
  • Side by side: see both images next to each other
  • Fade: change the opacity of the After image
  • Difference: changed pixels show in red over a grey copy of the image, with the changed-pixel count and the area they cover

In Difference view, Tolerance sets how much a pixel has to change before it counts. It starts at 10% and goes from 0% to 50%. Use Match widths when the images differ in size, or Actual size to compare pixel for pixel.

Limits

  • Two images at a time
  • Up to 50 MB per image

Fast Workflow

  1. Open Compare Images
  2. Choose the Before and After images
  3. Pick Slider, Side by side, Fade, or Difference
  4. Adjust Tolerance in Difference view if needed
  5. Click Download PNG to save the view
